Are you in pursuit of XP in Pokémon Go, aiming for Level 40, 50, or perhaps looking ahead to Level 60? You're in luck! Today, we will explore the top XP grinding strategies in Pokémon Go, uncovering ways to swiftly amass XP. Even if you've reached Level 50, the horizon of Level 60 looms near. Stay ahead of the game and seize the opportunity to excel.
Lucky eggs can be purchased in the in-game shop for 80 coins for one or eight for 500 coins. These eggs double the amount of XP you get for 30 minutes. This applies to every XP method in Pokémon Go, from catching Pokémon to claiming XP from research tasks. Sometimes different boxes will also include lucky eggs, like the Voyager box, which gives you 10 lucky eggs. You can complete different special or timed research tasks and even sometimes field research tasks to get lucky eggs. So overall, they're not too hard of an item to collect, and they're definitely essential to really maximize getting XP. We're going to involve them in pretty much all of our strategies that we talk about.
But that gets us into our first strategy, the one I always recommend people to do, and that's just catching Pokémon with excellent throws. Time and time again, I've mentioned on the channel how excellent throws are the most effective way of getting XP in Pokémon Go. Let's go through why.
First of all, catching any Pokémon will get you 100 XP, a new Pokédex entry will get you an extra thousand, catch on a curveball 20 XP, on a nice throw 20 XP, on a great throw 100 XP, etc. An excellent throw will be 1,000 XP, and by the way, these stack. So if it's a new Pokémon with an excellent throw, that's a total of 2,000 XP. Of course, if we throw in that lucky egg, we're going to be doubling that, so you're looking at 2,000 XP for catching a Pokémon on an excellent throw. Just catching one Pokémon—it literally takes about 5 seconds if you use the quick catch technique, and technically it's even more because, again, these stack gets added as well.
Sometimes in Pokémon Go, we have two times XP, three times XP, or even four times catch XP events, allowing us to multiply this all the way up to 4,000. Obviously, on a two times catch XP event with a lucky egg, if it's a three times catch XP event, you'll see 3,000 XP, which is obviously not marked here. But then if it's a four times catch XP, you'll see 8,000 XP for catching a single Pokémon on an excellent throw. I think it takes 8,000 XP to go from like level one to like level 10, so you could technically go from Level 1 to 10 in one catch. Maybe that's not exactly true, but it's a lot of XP.
So overall, practicing your excellent throws in Pokémon Go and hitting Pokémon with excellent throws is the most effective method to grind a lot of XP. I actually have a video where I went from Level 1 to Level 40 in 11 hours in Pokémon Go during a four times catch XP event. Just hitting excellent throws, I was able to catch 2,800 Pokémon on excellent throws and hit Level 50 in 11 hours. Obviously, that's an extreme case, but just get good at your excellent throws. Really practice them. Many people are always like, 'How do you get good excellent throws?' To get really good excellent throws, do this: Come to Pokémon. I've been doing this forever. I'm going to grab the Pokéball here. I'm going to watch as that circle gets to the size of an excellent throw. I'm just going to go ahead and spin it, and then when it does, I'm going to let go of the Pokéball. I'm going to throw it. Obviously, I missed there, and that's just part of it. You're going to miss sometimes, you're going to hit it sometimes, but overall, just make sure you're throwing that ball when it's that excellent throw size, and over time, you're going to learn exactly the amount of power and different stuff you need to do because every Pokémon is different. You can't remember. It's kind of just a muscle memory thing. So again, the key is just try your best. That obviously I failed, but try your best to hit excellent throws. And over time, you're going to get better and you'll get more consistent with it. That's how you get good at anything, just practice, practice, practice. There's no secret technique, nothing like that, it's just practice and getting used to, you know, the power and distance you need. So yeah, overall, excellent throws on a two times, three times, or four times catch XP event with a lucky egg, even just regular time with a lucky egg, probably the number one method to get XP. But don't sleep on the number two method because friendship bonuses in Pokémon GO can be some of the most passive XP you can get in the game.
There are four friendship levels players can achieve in Pokémon GO: Good Friends, Great Friends, Ultra Friends, and Best Friends. Reaching higher levels unlocks more generous rewards. Each level takes a certain number of "interactions" to attain. An interaction can include gifting, battling together in gyms or raids, trading, or battling against each other. Only one interaction counts per player per day.
It takes one day to become Good Friends, seven days for Great Friends, 30 days for Ultra Friends, and a lengthy 90 days for Best Friends status. Players can see their progress to the next level by checking a friend's information page.Increasing friendship levels rewards players with XP bonuses. Good Friends provides 3000 XP, Great Friends awards 10,000 XP, Ultra Friends 50,000 XP, and the prestigious Best Friends level showers 100,000 XP. With a Lucky Egg active, these amounts can all be doubled to accelerate leveling up a player's account.A new feature allows popping a Lucky Egg automatically when reaching a friendship level up. This ensures missing out on doubling the sizable XP bonuses is now avoidable.
Coordinating friendship level ups with community events like Community Day is an effective strategy. Some players will nickname their buddy with messages like "Lucky Egg on [date]" so friends know to save their Lucky Eggs. Group chats via apps like Campfire also aid organization between friends.Reaching Best Friends status with many Pokémon GO friends through consistent small daily interactions can substantially boost a player's XP total over time through these lucrative bonuses. The friendship system rewards investment.
Evolving Pokémon in Pokémon GO is a lucrative method for earning XP, especially during special events. Each evolution normally grants 1,000 XP, but during events like the Kricketot Spotlight in April, this can double to 2,000 XP with two times evolve XP bonuses. Utilizing a Lucky Egg during these periods further boosts XP to 4,000 per evolution. Evolving Pokémon new to your Pokédex doubles the XP gain, allowing for up to 8,000 XP per evolution. This strategy is particularly advantageous for new players looking to expand their Pokédex quickly.
During these events, efficient players can evolve up to two Pokémon per minute. With events lasting 60 minutes, this translates to evolving approximately 120 Pokémon in one hour, totaling 48,000 XP. These events are crucial for XP farming and should not be overlooked. Stay updated on event timings through reliable channels to maximize your XP gains.
Focus on Pokémon that require only 12 candies to evolve, as they are cost-effective choices during XP bonus events. Additionally, consider saving candies from Community Day Pokémon to capitalize on these events. Another effective strategy involves trade-evolved Pokémon like Haunter or Machoke, which can be evolved for free if obtained through trades. Leveraging these strategies can significantly enhance your XP farming efforts in Pokémon GO.
