In Pokémon GO, both Magnemite and its shiny variant can be found as wild spawns and through Research tasks. Events like Spotlight Hour and Magnetic Study significantly increase your chances of encountering a shiny version. Catching a shiny Magnemite allows you to evolve it into shiny Magneton and shiny Magnezone.
Shiny Magnemite and regular Magnemite have the same maximum Combat Power (CP). Magnemite boasts a maximum CP of 1540 with stats of 165 ATK, 121 DEF, and 93 STA. Evolving it can enhance its capabilities, making it a valuable Pokémon in your Pokedex.
You can find Magnemite and shiny Magnemite as wild spawns. Special events like Magnetic Study 2024 feature Magnemite in Research tasks, which also boosts its wild spawn rate. To increase your chances of finding a shiny, encounter several regular Magnemite.
To boost spawn rates even further, consider using in-game items like Incense, Lure Modules, and the Weather Boost effect. While Incense and Lures need to be activated manually, Weather Boost occurs passively during specific weather conditions.
Magnemite's spawn rate spikes during rainy and snowy weather. Head to a PokeStop under such conditions, attach a Lure Module, activate Incense, and move around the area to maximize your encounters. The more Magnemite you see, the higher your chances of finding a shiny!
You can also earn shiny Magnemite through Research tasks. The 2024 Pokémon GO Magnetic Study event includes Magnemite rewards for completing Field Research and Timed Research tasks, with increased chances for shiny variants.
After capturing a shiny Magnemite, you can evolve it into shiny Magneton and shiny Magnezone. Evolving a shiny Magnemite into shiny Magneton requires 50 Candy, while evolving shiny Magneton into shiny Magnezone needs 100 Candy and a Magnetic Lure Module.
To obtain a Magnetic Lure Module, purchase it from the in-game shop for 180 PokeCoins (approximately $2.00), or earn it through Special Research tasks. To meet the Candy requirements, catch and transfer multiple Magnemite during featured events.
With these strategies, you'll be well on your way to finding shiny Magnemite, Magneton, and Magnezone in Pokémon GO. Good luck, shiny hunters!
